For over 100 years, Porsche has built exceptional gas-powered sports cars. However, in the early 21st century, fossil fuel consumption comes under fire, and fuel economy moves to the forefront of consumers' minds. The survival of the Porsche requires reimagining the very concept of the sports car. Their answer: the Porsche 918 Spyder, the first true hybrid supercar, a leaner, greener 887-horsepower supercar with a top speed of 211 mph and the ability to blast from 0-60 in less than 2.8 seconds. And the cost: a mere $845,000.
